Ralph R. Morin, 89, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a Third Degree Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 p.m., a vigil service at 7 p.m. followed by a Chalice Service conducted by the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mr. Morin was born June 22, 1917, in Elk Point, S.D., the son of Fred A. and Ernestine (LaCroix) Morin. He moved with his family to Sioux City as a child. He graduated from East High School in 1935. He attended the National Business Training School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of captain.

He married Lucille McDonnell on Dec. 26, 1941, in Sioux City. She died May 15, 1995 in Sioux City. He worked for Engelson Abstract Co., Mobile Oil Company and was a vice president at Sedwick-Brennan Abstract Co.

He was a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus Epiphany Council 743 and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Garrigan Assembly. He was a member of Iowa Title Association. The couple had done volunteer work at Mercy Medical Center since 1982. He also was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include three children, Joan and her husband, Duane Haith of Omaha, Donna and her husband, Phil Sewell of Green Valley, Ariz., and Mark Morin of Omaha; his special friend, Beth White of Ponca, Neb.; three brothers and sisters, Madonna Cunningham of Sioux City, Paul Morin and his wife, Charlotte of Sioux City and Vergene and her husband, Jack Fessenden of Huntsville, Ala.; nine grandchildren and spouses, Greg and Shana Haith, Marcus and Carla Haith, Jill and Steve Melkus, Andy Haith and Abby Snavely, Alex and Jennifer Sewell, Brad and Nicole Sewell, Molly and Nick Novotny, Eric Sewell and Adam Sewell; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Morin.

Pallbearers will be Greg, Marcus and Andy Haith, Alex, Brad, Eric and Adam Sewell.
