Alyana Elizabeth Moreno, 4, of Estelline, SD formerly of South Sioux City, NE: passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 6, 2007 in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. until service time at St. Pauls Indian Mission. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007 at St. Pauls Indian Mission with Father David Titus officiating. Burial will follow at Dakota City Cemetery in Dakota City, Nebraska.
Alyana was born April 25, 2003 in Sioux City to Alberto and Kassy (Williams) Moreno. She lived most of her in South Sioux City, NE: but recently moved to Estelline, SD.
Alyana loved listening to music and singing. She also enjoyed playing with her dolls and having tea parties with her cousins and family. Alyana also enjoyed collecting rocks and cleaning them so she could see how pretty they were. She loved all kinds of different animals; if she had popcorn before bedtime she would save some to feed the hungry birds the next morning. Another thing she liked was talking on the phone with her family.
She would light up the room with her present. She loved being with her family and her family loved being with her.
Alyana is survived by her mother Kassy Moreno of South Sioux City, NE: her father Alberto Moreno Gomez of Estelline, SD, a brother, Alberto Angel Moreno of Estelline, SD. her grandparents, Dina Henry, Salvadore Moreno, Hermalinda Gomez, great grandparents, Lyle Jr. and Viva Henry, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alyana was preceded in death by her great, great grandparents, Lyle Sr. and Philomine Henry.
