SIOUX CITY -- Audrey J. Mook, 82, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Sunrise Retirement Home, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Augustana Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Del Olivier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Audrey was born Sept. 22, 1928, in Trail, Minn., the daughter of Christian and Ruth (Benson) Nelson. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City.

Audrey married Kenneth Mook on Jan. 20, 1949, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 1996. Audrey worked as a supervisor for Northwest Bell Telephone Company for 40 years before retiring in 1986.

She was a very active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, Quota Club, St. Luke's Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers and a quilting group; but, most of all, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their activities.

Survivors include her children, Douglas and his wife Susan Mook of Woodbury, Minn., and Judeen Matsuo of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; her grandchildren, Kulia Matsuo, Bryce Matsuo, Kelsi and her husband Tim Coles, and Patrick and wife Heather Cahill; one great-grandson, Samuel Coles; three sisters, Janice and husband Donald Mohan, Carolyn and husband Connie Harris, and Nancy Bergstrom; and one brother, Curtiss and wife Koko Bergstrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Duane, Marvin and Charles Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Augustana Lutheran Church.
