Betty Darlene Mills, 79, of Sioux City died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Betty was born March 26, 1928, in Sioux City, to Charles Lewis and Doris Mae (Walbeck) Julius. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1942.
She married Max Mills on March 4, 1952, in Sioux City. Max passed away on Nov. 1, 1987, in Sioux City. Betty worked as a clerk for Siedschlag's Grocery in Leeds for many years.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Fellowship Club, Craft Club, Azure Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and the Van Gang. Betty enjoyed bowling and golfing in many leagues.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (Dexter) Simonsen of Irene, S.D.; a son, Glen (Sherry) Mills of Barnesville, Minn.; a son, Joe (Teri) Mills of Sioux City; a daughter, Becky Roberge of Fargo, N.D.; and a daughter, Dawn Barkley of Hinton, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three grandchildren; and five sisters.
