Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Stephen was born July 22, 1948, in Sioux City, to Leonard E. and June (Whitmore) Miller. He graduated from Central High School. He worked as a roofing contractor.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working, spending time with his family and carpentry work.

Survivors include his mother, June Schumann of Sioux City; his stepmother, Lila Miller of Sioux City; two sons, David Miller and his wife, Serena and Stephen Miller and his significant other, Karen, all of Texas; a stepbrother, Michael Smith of Taylor, Texas; two stepsisters, Mickey and her husband, Dan Goosmann of Sioux City and Michelle Watkins and her significant other, Joe of Sioux City; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two sisters.
