Jeanne was born on March 3, 1949 in Sioux City to Richard and Betty (Quintal) Lamoureux. She graduated with the Class of 1967 from Bishop Heelan Catholic School. She married Jim Miller on September 20, 1969 in Sioux City at St. Michaels Catholic Church. To this union, three children were born, Jamey, Julie, and Joe. Jeanne was a homemaker, taking great pride in raising her children until they were in school. She worked outside the home for a number of years in the insurance industry before becoming the Executive Secretary for Indian Health Service, a career she enjoyed for over eight years before the position was eliminated. Jeanne was diagnosed with PVOD which kept her from working after the diagnosis. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, collecting angel figurines (as well as Tupperware containers) and could often be found at craft fairs. Jeanne was dedicated to her family, and found her greatest joy in her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, and enjoyed serving her community through her volunteering with friends at the Elks Lodge No. 112 in Sioux City.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Jim Miller of Sioux City; children Jamey Miller and his wife Lisa of Sioux City, Julie Castro and her husband Carlos of Omaha, and Joe Miller and his wife Deanna of Sioux City; sisters Cynthia Enright and her husband Patrick of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota and Deena Brandenberg and her husband Larry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren Ellena, Farah, twin boys Caeden and Camden, Hannah, Max, Benjamin, and Charlie; mother-in-law Bernice Miller of Merrill, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Rick Lamoureux, and father-in-law Wilbur Miller.
Jeanne continues to serve her community and family by donating her lungs to the Mayo Clinic of Minnesota for further research to find a cure for PVOD. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
