SIOUX CITY -- Dorothy L. Millage, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Touch Stone Living Center (formerly Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab.).

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday November 12, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Dorothy was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph and Laura (Eckerman) Allard. She graduated from Central High School in 1947.

She married Louis Millage on Nov. 13, 1948, in Sioux City. She was a nursing home administrator in South Sioux City. She lived in Sioux City until 1972. The couple moved to Hawarden, Iowa, in 1973. She was a nursing home administrator in Alcester, S.D., until her retirement. The couple lived in Hawarden until their retirement, then moved to Sun City Ariz. In 1986, they moved back to be closer to family and friends.

She was a member of the South Dakota Board of Nursing Home Administrators. She also was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Louis Millage of Dakota Dunes; four sons, Douglas Millage and his wife, Teresa of Dakota Dunes, Stanley Millage and his wife, Rox Ann of Dakota Dunes, Mark Millage of Hawarden, Iowa, and Roger Millage of Sioux City; nine grandchildren, Ryan Millage, Sadie Reifenrath, Courtney Millage, Charles Millage, Megan Millage, Christopher Millage, Michael Millage, Nicholas Dicus and Natasha Adams; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marge Robeson of Wichita, Kan., and Lila Jager of Sioux City; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Ronald and Marilyn Millage of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
