Jane Meyers

Lorraine "Jane" Meyers, 75, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Alex Washington officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lorraine Jane was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Carroll, Neb., the daughter of Herman and Eva (Bigelow) Hurley.

She married Joe Meyers on March 19, 1949, in South Sioux City. She was a long-time Sioux City residence. Jane was a member of TOPS.

Survivors include her husband, Joe; a daughter, Joanne Meyers of Concord, Calif.; a son and his wife, Doug and Judy Meyers of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Kimberly, Katelyn and Brett; and a sister, Eva Kennedy of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and five sisters.

The family suggests memorials in her name to the Siouxland Humane Society.
