SIOUX CITY -- Grace M. Meyers, 79, of Sioux City died unexpectedly on May 16, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Grace was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Maskell, Neb., to Carl and Bertina (Rosendahl) Lukken. She was happily married to Creighton "Lefty" Meyers. He preceded her in death in 1990. Grace was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church, where she volunteered in many places along with volunteering at the Sioux City Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved ones as well as keeping in touch with her many nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a son, Ricky Meyers and his wife, Donna of South Sioux City; a daughter, Cynthia Thiltgen and her husband, Dave of Omaha, Neb; a son-in-law, Jim Holmes of South Sioux City; a brother, Dinnie (Jean) Lukken of Elk Point, S.D.; six grandchildren, Dennis Holmes of Omaha, Jay (Shawna) Thiltgen of Omaha, Ryan (Rhonda) Meyers of Sioux City, Neil (Michelle) Thiltgen of Lincoln, Neb., Lindy (Dan) Bennett of Sioux City, and Joe Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four great-granddaughters, Grace Thiltgen of Omaha, Charlotte Thiltgen of Omaha, Madelyn Thiltgen of Lincoln, and Brynley Thiltgen of Lincoln; a stepgrandson; a stepgranddaughter; three great-stepgrandsons; and two great-stepgranddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Patti Holmes; two sisters; and five brothers.
Memorials may be made in her name to Trimble United Methodist Church.
