Jeanette A. McManigal, 75, of Sioux City was reunited with her husband in their heavenly home on Friday, April 27, 2007, at a Sioux City retirement home due to declining health.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Jeanette was born May 20, 1931, in Lamberton, Minn., the daughter of Leo and Rose (Frank) Nachtmann.
She married Jack B. McManigal on Jan. 5, 1952, in Sioux City. They celebrated 54 years of marriage. He preceded her in death exactly one year ago on April 27, 2006, in Sioux City. Jeanette resided 18 years in Lamberton, and 57 years in Sioux City. She was a cook for the school lunch program in the Sioux City Public Schools for 23 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She was very generous and dedicated, never missing a day of work. Jeanette adored her grandchildren, attending their sports activities and spending summers in Phoenix with them.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Gary and Shari McManigal of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter and her husband, Annette and Roger Winter of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Chad Winter and his fiancee, Daisy Miller, Craig (Anne) Winter and Cameron and Kayla McManigal; two sisters and their husbands, Lorraine and Glen Pieske of Lamberton, Minn., and Ruth Ann and Gary Miller of Decorah, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and her special pets, Dakota, Black Jack, Ozzie Lou and Jasper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack McManigal; a son, Bobby McManigal; a brother, Eugene; and two sisters, Delores and Violet "Pat."
