Jack B. McManigal

Jack B. McManigal, 76, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. There will be military rites conducted by the American Legion Monahan Post 64. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. McManigal was born Jan. 12, 1930, in Sioux City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William McManigal. He served his country during World War II. He married Jeanette Nachtman on Jan. 5, 1952, in Sioux City. He was employed as a salesman for 31 years with Boyer, 10 years with Rosenthall, four years with Staber and four years with Hy-Vee.

He was a member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sgt. Floyd Post 1973. He enjoyed working in his yard, buying tools and doing woodwork. He was known for having several projects going at once and loved to tinker. He always put his family and friends first.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette McManigal of Sioux City; a son, Gary (Shari) McManigal of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Annette (Roger) Winter of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Chad Winter and his fiancee, Daisy Miller, Craig (Anne) Winter, Cameron McManigal and Kayla McManigal; and his special pets, Dakota, Black Jack, Ozzie Lou and Jasper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister.
