Lila L. Mathieson

Lila L. Mathieson, 95, of Sioux City passed away Monday, July 10, 2006, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Lila Lily Larsen was born April 15, 1911, in rural Sergeant Bluff, the daughter of John N. and Anna M. (Iversen) Larsen.

She married George Mathieson on Jan. 21, 1933, in Sioux City. She worked at T.S. Martin Department Store and the Sioux City Stationery. She was also in the grocery business with her husband.

She was a member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Isis Chapter 178. She enjoyed her church family and her loving dog, Pat.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Ernest, Peter and Elmer; infant twins siblings; and a nephew, Roger Larsen.
