SIOUX CITY -- Carol L. Mansfield, 72, of Sioux City died Monday, March 1, 2010, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gregory Hanneman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Carol was born the daughter of Washington and Elsie (Schroeder) Timmons on Aug. 2, 1937. She grew up in Northwest Iowa and graduated from Okoboji Township High School in 1955. Carol attended Lutheran School of Nursing in Sioux City, graduating in 1957. She worked for Dr. Bowers and St. Luke's Hospital as a registered nurse. She also worked for Dr. Vaught and Mid-Step Services and retired in 2007, after 50 years.
Carol married Roger Mansfield on July 11, 1965, in Linn Grove, Iowa. Roger died on May 17, 1989.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a fan of both the Iowa Hawkeyes and NASCAR.
Carol is survived by one son, Chris (Joan) Mansfield of Sioux City; one daughter, Dana Mansfield of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Joe and Jenny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two infant brothers.
