Lila Mae Mannion, 85, of Mitchell, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at a Mitchell nursing home after a long fulfilling life.
Services will be 9 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2007 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Leo Kostizen officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.
Lila was born April 18, 1922, in Pequot Lakes, Minn., to Merritt and Marie (Paschket) Boyington. She graduated from Pequot Lakes High School.
She married John Mannion on Nov. 28, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1990 in Sioux City.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Neb. She was a true gift to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Kristine and Carl Dirks of Gering, Neb.; and three grandchildren, John Dirks and his wife, Megan of Detroit, Mich., David Dirks of Gering, Neb., and Michael Dirks of Tacoma, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son, Mark; two sisters; and a brother.
