Mary Jo Alice Mahan, 92, of Sioux City passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mary Jo was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Sioux City, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Zuber) Richards. She graduated from high school in Sioux City and attended nurses training in Sioux City.
She married Raymond Mahan in 1959. He passed away in 1981. She was a nurse at Sunrise Nursing Home.
She loved to play bingo, animals and her cats. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Taylor of Sioux City and Janice Rodio of Texas; grandchildren, Deb Jensen, Dianna (Mark) Longwell and Larry Jo (Debbie) Peterson; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carla Lange-Besch; three brothers; and a sister.
