Pearl Beatrice Lukowicz

November 3, 1919 — February 22, 2008

Pearl Beatrice Lukowicz, 88, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, February 22, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008, from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend LeRoy Struble officiating. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery.

Pearl was born on November 3, 1919 to Alma Greenough in Waldron, Arkansas. She moved to Sioux City in 1928 and was raised by her Aunt Hazel and Uncle Charles Keairnes. She attended Sioux City schools.

On April 22, 1939, Pearl married Stanley Lukowicz in Sioux City. Pearl lived in her Kelly Park home for 78 years where the coffee pot was always on and friends and family were always welcomed.

Pearl was a home maker first and foremost, but she also worked for the Sioux City Community Schools as a lunchroom aid at Grant School for several years.

Pearl was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and crossword puzzles.

She was survived by 3 sons, John Lukowicz and wife Judy of Sioux City, IA, Richard Lukowicz and wife Jessie of Erie, CO, and Jack Lukowicz and wife Lynn of Sioux City, IA, 3 daughters, Bonnie Sparks and husband Larry of Dow City, IA, Linda Lewis and husband Chuck of Liberty, MO, and Kathy Peschel of Bronson, IA. 15 grandchildren, 2 step- grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 7 step-great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, 1 step-great great grandson. A special nephew, Charles Hughes and wife Anna of Westfield, IA, and 2 special nieces, Beverly Waddell of Westfield, IA and Phyllis Romeo of Macomb, MI.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley on April 10, 1997, her mother, her aunt and uncle, a brother, Gary Greenough, sons-in-law, S. Earl Monk, and Charley Peschel, great grandson, Cody Monk, and her foster sisters, Goldie Keairnes and Helen Hughes.
