Georgia Luke

SIOUX CITY -- Georgia Luke, 83, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.

Visitation with the family will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Luke was born July 3, 1927, in Sioux City, the daughter of Mike and Sophia (Kaminska) Staszewsky. She attended Sioux City Public Schools and graduated from Central High School.

She married William A. Luke on April 25, 1948, in Sioux City. The couple owned and operated Luke's TV Center and Luke's Coin Operated Dry Cleaners. Mr. Luke died in May 2002, in Sioux City.

Georgia was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, William Michael Luke and his wife, Cassandra of Houston, Texas, and Robert Allen Luke of Sioux City; a sister, Delores Graack of Sioux City; a grandson, William Alexander Bryan Luke of Sioux City; and a granddaughter, London Alyse Luke of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters; and an infant sister.
