Kenneth B. Luce, 78, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Sunrise Retirement Community following an extended illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 1111 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Daniel Anderson of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Kenneth was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Correctionville, Iowa, to Louis D.D. and Laura M. (Riggs) Luce. The Luce family moved to Anthon, Iowa, shortly after his birth. When he was 8 years old, he moved with his family to Sioux City. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Kenneth married Phyllis G. Feddersen on June 13, 1955, in South Sioux City. Phyllis preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 2002, in Sioux City. He worked for Sioux City Optical for nearly 30 years. Later, he drove vans for Sioux City Schools.
He enjoyed fishing. Kenneth especially cherished the times spent with his wife.
Survivors include a sister, Nora Bell Hayes of Sioux City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Marc Johnson, Gary Hayes, Mike Hayes, Brian Corey, Vergil Heyer and Dave Suhr.
