Mark Steven Longwell, 44, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Omaha Valley Cemetery, Homer, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to meyerbroschapels.com.
Mark was born Dec. 28, 1965, in Sioux City, the son of Larry Lee and Pearl (Bowman) Longwell Sr. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident.
On July 10, 1987, he married Dianna M. Wetrosky in Elk Point, S.D.
He was a handyman, jack of all trades and a master of all. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna; a son, Steven at home; a daughter, Stephanie at home; seven siblings, Dan, Rick, Larry Jr., Kelly and his wife, Tracey, all of Sioux City, Nathan of Arizona, Debbie Longwell of Delta, Colo., and Bobbie Jo Longwell of Arizona; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Penny Longwell, Tami and her husband, Steve Brentlinger and Tammy Lynn Elgert; and a nephew, Michael Olsen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Hodges, Dennis Hodges, Norman Ruble, Monty Flaugh, Mike Ruble, Billy Sappingfield and J.T. Ring.
