Norma J. Logsdon

Norma J. Logsdon, 71, of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Bruch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Norma was born Oct. 29, 1936, on a farm near Vermillion, S.D., the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Goeken) Reifenrath.

She married Conrad L. Logsdon on May 24, 1958 in Vermillion. She most of her life in Sioux City, where she was employed at Old Home Bakery, Zenith Corp., Ben Fish, Palmer Candy and at Gateway.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed square dancing, rummage sales and flea markets, crocheting and needlepoint. She was an avid reader. Family meant everything to her, especially the times she spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include six sons, their wives and 12 grandchildren, Randy Logsdon of Des Moines, Joe and Bev Logsdon of Sioux City and their children, Aliesha and Janessa, Conrad and JoLynn Logsdon of Sioux City and their children, Alisha and Justin, Gene and Debbie Logsdon of Sioux City and their children, Lisa and Kevin, Jeff and Susan Logsdon of Lawton, Iowa and their children, Ethan, Rob and Brett, and Paul and Sharon Logsdon of Sioux City and their children, Michelle, Brittany and Madison; seven siblings and spouses, Barbara Ernst of Vermillion, S.D., Dorothy Van O'rmer of Corvallis, Ore., Lorraine and John Wickstrom of Vancouver, Wash., Robert and Barbara Reifenrath of Upland, Calif., and Melvin Reifenrath, Kenneth and Jewel Reifenrath and Linda and Joe Fisher, all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry; and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Ernst and Frank Van O'rmer.

Pallbearers will be her sons. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
