Rolland O. Lofland

Rolland Ed O. Lofland, 72, of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. a vigil service will then begin at 7:00 p.m. all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Reverend James Bruch celebrating. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery.

Ed was born July 23, 1934 in Vandalia, IL. to Eugene and Edna (Clark) Lofland. He grew up and attended school in Vandalia. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 13, 1952. He retired from the military 20 years later. On October 21, 1956, he married Barbara Murray in Elk Point, SD. They lived in various places through out his career in the military and afterwards with his career with Kirby Vacuums. Ed and Barbara also owned and operated the House of Vacuums for many years in Sioux City. After Barbara passed away in March of 2005. Ed married Emilie Lammert on February 18, 2006 in Laughlin, NV. Ed enjoyed fishing, camping and their Saturday night card games, and Fridays at the track with Jerry. Ed and Emilie also loved traveling, covering 24 states last year alone. Ed was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Ed is survived by his wife: Emilie, 1 daughter: Becky Sands and her husband Jeff of Sioux City, IA; 3 sons: Randy Lofland and his wife Sue of Branson, MO; Eddie Lofland and his wife Amy and Gary Lofland both of Sioux City, IA; 3 stepsons: Mike Hogan and his wife Tauna of Idaho Falls, ID; Marty Hogan and his wife Carolyn and Monty Hogan both of Sioux City, IA; 3 stepdaughters: Michele Feauto, Missi Hogan and fianc Todd Roberts, and Mindy Hogan and fianc Lee Reed all of Sioux City, IA; 8 grandchildren: Sarah, Kaitlin, Brandon, Austin, Evan and Meagan Lofland, Nicole and her husband Robert Greenhagen and Nathan and his wife Nita Sands. 2 great grandchildren: Tanner and Robert, 12 step grandchildren: Erika, Jonathan, Myranda, Christopher, Mariah, and Ryleigh Hogan, Chassidy, Chase, Cayler, Rann, Keegan Feauto. 1 sister: Fern Smith and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by a son Timmy and wife Barbara of 49 years.
