Jean M. Linscott

Jean M. Linscott, 71, of Sioux City passed away at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, surrounded by family and friends.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jean was born March 9, 1937, in Maskell, Neb., the daughter of Elmer M. and Doris G. (Gran) Hall.

She married Ward W. Linscott on Nov. 1, 1957, at Salem Lutheran Church in Ponca, Neb. She was employed with Palmer Candy Co. for about 20 years.

She enjoyed camping, playing bean bags and Skip-Bo. She also enjoyed taking care of her loving grandkids and cooking for everyone.

Survivors include her husband, Ward; two daughters, Brenda F. and her husband, Kenneth O. Harder and Gerrie Linscott, all of Sioux City; four brothers, Butch Hall and his wife, Helenann of Ponca, Neb., Gary Hall of Colorado, Lyle Hall of South Sioux City and Ben Hall of Ponca; a sister, Leona Conrad of Ponca; 10 grandchildren, Melissa Ivanov, Kyle Linscott, Emily Linscott, John Linscott, Anthony Harder, Megan Musick, Kelsi Harder, Cody Harder, Corey Cable and Cali Cable; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ward Linscott Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Linscott; and four sisters, Alice Koeppe, Judy Traudt (Jean's twin), Phyllis Addison and Peggy Beckner.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Linscott, John Linscott, Corey Cable, Cody Harder, Kim Taylor and James Delaney.
