Margaret G. "Peg" Lindsay, 92, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at her residence of natural causes.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 15, 2008 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 12th and Douglas, in Sioux City, with the Rev. Curt Moermond officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 with the family present 6 to 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Peg was born Aug. 8, 1915, in Ponca, Neb., to Irve Barber and Gertrude (Scollard) Barbour. She graduated from Central High School in 1935 and was a lifetime resident of Sioux City since 1918.
She married Charles D. Lindsay on May 14, 1939, in Sioux City at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter IL, the Sioux City Garden Club and the Sioux City Women's Club. She was a past member of the Sioux City Symphony Women's committee, Youth Symphony board and the Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Judith and Edward Stribley of Omaha; a daughter and her husband, Janice and Stephen Hartz of Miami, Fla.; a son and his wife, Douglas "Paco" and Carol Lindsay of Truckee, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Bryon Stribley; her twin sister, Lucille Eberly; a brother, Robert Barbour; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vonnie and John Hess; and a nephew and his wife, John and Marsha Hess.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church music and/or Altar Guild.
