William G. LeClair

SIOUX CITY -- William G. LeClair, 76, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at his residence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave.

Bill was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Sioux City, to William and Lucy (Holbrook) LeClair. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1951.

He married Dolores Koch on Oct. 10, 1956, in Wynot, Neb. He was a truck driver for United Van Lines (I-Go Moving) and retired in 1989. Dolores passed away Sept. 17, 2001, in Sioux City.

He loved all sports. He was an avid golf player and had gotten numerous holes-in-one. His favorite teams were the Bears and Cubs. He also loved to bowl and play cribbage. He had morning coffee meetings every day at either Hy-Vee or Gus's. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, a retired Teamster president and was president of the Northside Little League for many years. Above everything, he was a devoted husband and loving father.

He is survived by seven sons, William LeClair and his wife, Sylvie of San Jose, Calif., Douglas LeClair and his wife, Susan of Portland, Maine, David LeClair and his wife, Leanne of Sioux City, Timothy LeClair and his fiancee, Angela of Sioux City, Robert LeClair and his wife, Jane of Omaha, Gary LeClair of Sioux City and Edward LeClair and his wife, Tonya of Mansfield, Texas; a brother, Pete LeClair and his wife, Patricia of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Al and Don; and four sisters, Doris, Cora, Luella and Emma.

Pallbearers will be his seven sons. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete LeClair and Ed Griener.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Meals on Wheels.
