SIOUX CITY -- Ben Lebowich, 93, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at the Rose Blumkin Home in Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Beth Shalom Synagogue in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Ben served in the U.S. Army Air Force for four years during World War II, attaining the rank of 1st lieutenant. Ben was associated with the livestock and meat packing business, in Sioux City, Omaha and surrounding areas for many years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and loved animals.

Survivors include his wife, Grace, of 67 years; his grandson, Michael and Michael's wife, Jenna; great-granddaughter, Marina; and daughter-in-law, Bobi Lebowich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Ida Lebowich; his daughter, Roxann Lavorato; and his son, Gary A. Lebowich.

Arrangements are pending with Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
