Rosalie M. Larsen, 84, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. today at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Janice Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Rosalie was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Taylors Falls, Minn., the daughter of Joseph R. and Addie L. (Nyquist) Goranson. She graduated from Center City High School. She also graduated from Lutheran Bible College and College of Commerce in Minneapolis, Minn.

Rosalie married the Rev. Laurell "Larry" Larsen on July 25, 1954, in Chicago Lake Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1989, in Sioux City. The couple served five parishes in South Dakota (16 churches) and two parishes in Iowa (six churches). Rosalie was a pastor's wife and a certified nurse's aide.

She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. Rosalie enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also prayed faithfully for missionaries and people in need.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Lee (Allen) Martin of Sioux City, Lois A. Betz of Houston, Texas, Susan (Gene) Humiston of Edgemont, S.D., and Debra Larsen of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Goranson of Denver, Colo., and Roy (Karen) Goranson of Elk River, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a grandson, Christopher Martin.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rosalie's name may be directed to Riverside United Methodist Church.
