SIOUX CITY -- Jeffrey G. Lair, 37, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his residence.
There will be a prayer service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Bacon Creek Recreation Area of Sioux City, with Pastor Michael Ring of Glad Tidings Lighthouse officiating. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements.
Jeffrey was born Feb. 22, 1972, in San Diego, Calif., to William E. and Sharon (Gunpenberger) Lair. The family moved to Sioux City in 1973, and Jeffery received his education in the Sioux City Public Schools. Following his degree, Jeffrey began his career as a carpenter in the Sioux City area until his untimely death on Friday.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding all sorts of recreational vehicles including snowmobiles and motorcycles. Jeffrey played baseball throughout his life and was a competitor as a tri-athlete.
Survivors include his father, William E. Lair and stepmother, Freida of Sioux City; his mother, Sharon Vaughn of Grants Pass, Ore.; children, Landon Weitzel, Jestin Lair, Briesha Lair, Alexis Lair and Ethan Lair, all of Sioux City; sisters, Meranda Bailey and Andrea Lair, both of Sioux City; a half sister, Janet Vaughn; and aunts, Thelma Wolf and Patricia Holbrook, both of Sioux City.
