Ruth LaFleur

Ruth LaFleur-Lowrey, 87 of LeMars, formerly of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Church of the Nativity at 2:00 p.m. with Father Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel located at 6200 Morningside Ave. from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.

Ruth was born on June 15, 1922 in Sioux City to Marion and Mary (Welch) McKinney. She was married to Herbert LaFleur on February 19, 1941 in Jefferson, SD. He preceded her in death in 1984 in Sioux City. Ruth was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a past member of Immaculate Conception and Church of the Nativity Catholic Churches.

She is survived by her 4 daughters Bonnie LaFleur of Hillard, OH; Kathy (Lloyd) Braband of LeMars; Sandy (E.B.) Baker of Sergeant Bluff; and Eva (Jim) Treinen of Sioux Falls, SD; 2 sons Jim LaFleur of Council Bluffs; and Gary (Carol) LaFleur of St. Augustine, FL; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law Russ (Lois) LaFleur of Jefferson, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, grandson Jonathan Wilton, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be directing all memorials to Hospice of Siouxland.
