Peter B. Krause, 93, of Sioux City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in Sioux City. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. also at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jim Tieszen officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Peter was born May 31, 1912, to Peter and Mary (Buller) Krause, in Henderson, Neb. He attended rural school in Henderson. The family moved to Radisson, Wis., in 1922, then two years later they moved to Mountain Lake, Minn. On Dec. 3, 1935, he married Ann Quiring in Bingham Lake, Minn.

They lived in Cottonwood County, Minn., from 1935 to 1943, where he farmed, drove a school bus and was a grocery store clerk. The couple moved to St. James, Minn., in 1943, where he worked at Scherr-Tumico Manufacturing. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1962, where he worked at American Equipment Company until he was 80 years old. The couple also presented The German Hour on KTFC Radio for 26 years.

He most recently attended Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing, reading his Bible and woodworking.

He is survived by his children, Anne Miller Isder and her husband, George of Fulda, Minn., Peter Krause and his wife, Karen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, John Krause of Nipomo, Calif., and James Krause and his wife, Chris of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; a brother and his wife, David and Wilma Krause of Mankato, Minn.; three sisters, Sarah Regehr of Windom, Minn., Marie Callender of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tina Duerksen and her husband, John of Mountain Lake, Minn.; and three sisters-in-law, Emma Krause of Omaha, Sara Simenson and Rose Quiring, both of St. James, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ann; a son-in-law, Marvin Miller; three brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Scott Miller, Brian Miller, Julie Duncan, Bradley Krause, Bruce Krause, Zachary Krause and Ashley Krause.
