SIOUX CITY -- Ledra Kemp, 96, recently left this world to join her husband, family and friends who went before her. She will be greatly missed.
No local services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Throughout her 96 years, she had called Indiana, California, Wyoming, Florida and most recently, Iowa her home. She moved to Sioux City to be with her daughter in 2005. She loved to travel, and with her husband, Ed, together they traveled the world. She also enjoyed sewing, working on various crafts, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Even though the last years of her life were diminished by Alzheimer's and some of the memories disappeared as the disease took its toll, she never complained. Her family would like to thank the special staff at Bickford Cottage - Memory Care, certain special staff at Countryside Retirement Home (you know who you are) and Hospice, who made her last days and hours comfortable. A deep thanks to all of you.
She leaves behind a daughter, Louise Morgan of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Angela Keller of Bellevue, Neb., and Chad Morgan of McCook Lake, S.D.; and four great-grandchildren.
