SIOUX CITY -- Arleigh M. Keil, 76, of Sioux City suffered a stroke and passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Andy L. Anderson officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Arleigh was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Sioux City, to William and Emma (Klinkle) Cook. She graduated from Sloan (Iowa) High School.
She married E. Dwayne Keil on Jan. 24, 1954, in Sloan. Dwayne passed away Feb. 17, 2004. She worked as an office manager for Sioux City Radiological Group for 40 years.
She loved to go golfing and was a member of Sun Valley Golf League. She loved to play bridge and go on walks with her friends and family. She was a devoted Christian and an active member of First Christian Church. She was an elder of the church and held many church offices throughout the years.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Keil of Holstein, Iowa; a daughter, Leisa Doren and her husband, Danny of Sergeant Bluff; her twin sisters, Elsie Fuller of New Mexico, and Ellen DeWeese of Oregon; a granddaughter, Holly Mogensen of Sioux City and her three children, Jordan, Jaden and Jalen Trudell; and a grandson, Andrew Keil of Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sisters; and three brothers.
