Sara Louise (Kaplan) Kahn, 94 of Minneapolis, MN and formerly of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 in Minneapolis.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Sioux City with Rabbi Hillel Greene officiating. There will be no visitation. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com .
Sara was born April 20, 1914 in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Abraham W. and Fanny Kaplan. She married Victor Kahn on December 29, 1935 in New York City, NY. He died in Rochester, MN. Sara grew up in Sioux City then lived in Connecticut for 10 years, Mankato, MN for 50 years and in Minneapolis for 12 years.
She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom and a former member of Shaare Zion Synagogue. She is survived by a daughter, Marion Herstein, 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Debra and Paul Chumsky and Jon and Kris Lego; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Brenna and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Arlene Lebo and three brothers
