SIOUX CITY -- Gladys M. Jones, 85, of Sioux City died Monday, March 7, 2011, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Crescent Park Untied Methodist Church, with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Gladys was born May 22, 1925, in Odebolt, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Katherine (Schwanz) Hedberg. She grew up in Odebolt and graduated from Odebolt High School. Gladys moved to Washington state for a short time before moving to Sioux City.

She married Robert R. Jones on Sept. 9, 1952, in Sioux City. He died on may 7, 2008, in Sioux City. Gladys worked for Wincharger, Johnson Biscuit and then Interbake Foods, retiring in 1992.

She had been a longtime member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church. She was always a happy person with a good spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her five children, Linda Jones and her significant other, Joe Schneiders of Sioux Falls, S.D., Deb Jones of Sioux City, Susan Berens of White Bear, Minn., Ron Jones and his wife, Anita of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Lori Miller and her significant other, Anthony Rogers of Sioux City; a sister, Norma Hunt of Lake View, Iowa; four grandchildren, Shawna Moyle, Reid Berens, Mike Miller and Kelsey Berens; and two great-grandchildren, Jared and Bella Custer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and eight brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Moyle, Anthony Rogers, Michael Miller, Reid Berens, Joe Schneiders and Jared Custer.
