Jimmy C. Johnson. Sr;

April 3, 1951 — October 8, 2007

Jimmy C. Johnson Sr., 56, of Sioux City died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Glen Houts of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mr. Johnson was born April 3, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of John P. and Fern L. (Fursee) Johnson. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.

He married Donna Clausen on Sept. 11, 1972, in Sioux City. He was chief of security at the Kay Dee Stockyards Station. He had worked for John Morrell for many years.

He collected coins and stamps. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was the type to person who enjoyed helping other people out.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Sioux City; six children, Jimmy C. Johnson Jr. of Sioux City, Johnny E. Johnson and his girlfriend, Jessica Seibold of Sioux City, Terry A. Johnson of South Sioux City, Veronica L. Johnson of Sioux City, Shane R. Johnson and his wife, Stacy of Sioux City and Eddie Feddar of Arizona; a brother, Ed Rush of Sioux City; four sisters, Margaret Bogan, Mary Craig, Carrie Johnson and Betty Gill, all of Sioux City; Vicki Bowman of Sioux City; and 18 grandchildren including four that they are raising, Leticia, Jorge, John and Deanna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leon "Donald" Johnson and John P. Rush.

Pallbearers will be Shane, Terry, Larry, Veronica and Keith Johnson and Ronnie Wyatt.
