Phyllis M. Iverson, 84, of Sioux City, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at St. Lukes Hospital surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2009, at Calvary Lutheran Church with Reverend James Travis officiating. Burial will follow at Logan Park Cemetery.
Phyllis was born on January 15, 1925, in Sioux City to Nicholas S. and Rachel Marie (Rudolph) Dorsey. She grew up in Leeds and attended Leeds High School.
She married Peter L. Iverson on January 28, 1943 in Dakota City NE. Phyllis worked at Toy National Bank until she retired in 1987.
Phyllis was baptized and confirmed and a life long member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing golf which she played on the womens league at Sun Valley Golf Course. She also enjoyed playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her 2 daughters, Sharon (Don) Van Roekel and Sandra (Larry) Kunze all of Sioux City, 2 granddaughters, Christy Kunze and Robyn Kunze, 7 great grandchildren, Brandi Preston, Ben Preston, Bailey Preston, Brody Kunze, Carson Kunze, Miranda Kunze and Blake Kunze.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Peter on April 11, 1984, Sister, Marion Keller, Brother, John Dorsey and a granddaughter, Kamie Preston.
