Frances I. Iverson, 84, of Sioux City, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at a local hospital. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon with an Order of Eastern Star service to be held at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date at the Sergeant Bluff Cemetery.
Frances was born on April 11, 1924 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Edward and Norma (Flathers) George. She grew up in Fort Dodge where she attended school.
She married Ardo Raymond Thompson on April 25, 1941. She moved to Sioux City with her son Edward in 1944. She has lived here ever since.
Frances later married Dale J. Iverson in 1953. He passed away in 1976. Frances worked in several packing houses, Pepsi Cola, Johnson Biscuit and the Central Kitchen until she retired in 1986.
Frances was a member of the CIO union, the Riverside Order of the Eastern Star Silver Azure Chapter. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time at home.
Frances is survived by her son, Edward Thompson of Sioux City, 3 grandchildren, Roxanne Ricks, Stephanie Roberts, and Eddie Thompson, 4 great grandchildren, 1 niece Peggy George Margaret Jamison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, 2 brothers, Edward George in 2002 and Lloyd George (Infant).
