Virginia Hummel

SIOUX CITY -- Virginia Hummel, 87, of Sioux City passed away peacefully Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Casa de Paz Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Virginia was born Aug. 16, 1922, to Helen Hummel of Sioux City. She was raised by her mother and grandparents. She attended local schools. She graduated from college and taught school in the Sioux City area.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother; and a cousin, Ellen Buckley-Coen.
