SIOUX CITY -- Robert "Bob" Howard, 64, of Sioux City died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7:15 p.m. prayer service at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Robert was born April 28, 1945, in Sioux City to Charles C. and Audrey (Moulds) Howard. The lifetime Sioux City resident was educated in the Sioux City Public Schools and was never married.
His lifelong career in food service began at Bishops in downtown Sioux City and continued at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for 30 years and at the Palmer House Restaurant for a couple years before disability forced his early retirement.
Robert was a member of the Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed attending church. He would help put out the Christmas decorations at the church, which he greatly enjoyed. He was a past member of Landmark Lodge of Sioux City.
He loved fishing, movies and collecting model cars. Bob also enjoyed visiting with people he'd encounter on his daily walks around the city.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Peterson of Sioux City and her daughter, Jane Allen, and Jane's husband, Robert Allen of Arrington, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Charles Avery, Harold Barkley, Tom Eggleston, Ray Clause, Robert Allen and Jon Allen.
