Michael L. Houlton

Michael L. Mick Houlton, 69 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. Graveside services for Michael will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Michael was born on May 15, 1940 in Akron, Iowa to Leo Paul and Ella Theresa (Trautt) Houlton. He graduated from Heelan High School. Michael worked for Sunshine Foods and Younkers. He was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany later transferring to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Michael served on Alter with Bishop Mueller.

He is survived by one brother Larry (Judy) Houlton of Omaha, Nebraska; two sisters Colleen (Terry) Martin and Sharon (Daniel) Jarman both of Sioux City; a special friend Anne. Michael will be remembered by all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

The family would like to thank Duke and Carol for the loving care given to Michael and would like to designate memorials to be given to Hospice of Siouxland.
