Mardelle C. Holt, 92 of Wildwood, MO formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 in Ellisville, MO. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. A funeral service will then begin at 11:00 a.m. also at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Ernest Caltvedt officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Mardelle was born March 9, 1914 to Lawrence and Grace (Richardson) Rodgers in Onawa, Iowa. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired as night chief operator after a career of 30 years. Mardelle was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years before moving to St. Louis, Missouri in 1996.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Barbara Bess and Donna Williams and her husband Richard; 2 grandchildren Jenna Walls and her husband David and Greg Erickson and his wife Leslie; and 2 great grandchildren Jacob and Zachary Walls, She is also survived by 2 sisters, June Geadelmann and Evelyn Galles. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Brubaker and Glenn Holt, sisters Hazel Buchanan and Bette Reese, brothers Maurice and Kenneth Rodgers.
