Robert Holloway, 84, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Third Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jennifer Santer officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bob was born on June 10, 1923, in Sioux City to Allen and Marie (Warnholtz) Holloway. Bob lived in Sioux City all of his life until a year ago when he moved to Minnesota to be by his children.

Bob served his country during W.W.II as a Naval Aviator from November 1942, until he was honorably discharged on October 21, 1945.

On April 5, 1945, he married Dorothy Mahany. They were very active members of Third Presbyterian Church.

Upon his return from military service, Bob worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 40 years. He retired as a Yard Master.

The loves of his life were his wife and family, fishing in South Dakota and Canada and woodcarving. He also loved to spend winters in Arizona with Dorothy in their camper and hiking in the desert.

Bob is survived by his children, Terry Holloway and wife Donna of Longville, MN, Bruce Holloway and wife Katie of Brooklyn Park, MN, Karen Boeshart and husband Lyle of Otsego, MN, and Debbie Holloway of Hackensack, MN, and seven grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy of 53 years and brothers Doug, Craig and Keith.

In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be directed to Third Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund or Hospice.

Serving as casket bearers will be Evan Holloway, Shawn Holloway, Doug Wheelock, Harvey Stokes, Don Stokes and Darrell Krommenhoek.
