Doris J. Hollinger

SIOUX CITY -- Doris J. Hollinger, 70, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at a local hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Remsen Cemetery, Remsen, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Doris was born Feb. 25, 1940, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer Joachim and Melva Alma (Dixon) Grage.

She married Joseph Francis Hollinger Jr. on July 15, 1967. They later divorced. He passed away Aug. 9, 2006.

Doris loved to crochet, bake and play bingo. He greatest love was spending time with her grandkids. She also was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include her children, Joe and his significant other, Paula of Sioux City, Tammy Hollinger of Sioux City and Darwyn and his fiancee, Sarah of Sioux City; 10 grandkids, Jerod, Brady, Kaci, Kelsi, Kaleb, Madison, Theresa, Ethan, Erick and Morgen; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gerald Grage.
