Eileen Holck

November 25, 1930 — January 23, 2010

Eileen Holck, 79, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at a Sioux City Hospital. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Church of the Nativity with Father Gerald Feierfeil officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday with family present 4-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, of whom Eileen was a member, will recite the Rosary.

Eileen was born November 25, 1930 in Luton, Iowa to Richard Harold and Rosa Delia (Murphy) Raub. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1948. She was married to her best friend George Holck on June 20, 1953 in Sioux City, and they were blessed to spend the next 57 years together. Eileen worked at Metz Baking for 15 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, dancing and shopping. Eileen and George also enjoyed 15 wonderful years at their winter home in sunny Arizona. Eileen was a member of Church of the Nativity.

She is survived by her husband George Holck of Sioux City; five children Sandy (Loren) Likes of Cedar Rapids, IA; Bill (Mary Jane) Holck of Merrill, IA; Pam (Tim) Gerhardt of Schaumburg, IL; Thomas John Holck of Sioux City; and Julie Mozak of Sioux City; 8 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers Tony (Anne) Raub; and Bill (Mary) Raub; two sisters-in-law Doretta Unrau and Jean Raub, a brother-in-law Curly Collette and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Dan and Larry Raub, sister-in-law Mary June, and two brothers-in-law Julius Unrau and Willis (Mildred) Holck. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
