Marsha Ann Hofer

Marsha Ann Hofer, 48, Sioux City, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in a single-car accident.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. James A. Bruch officiating. Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin's Cemetery in Huron, S.D. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A vigil service is 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Marsha was born Sept. 1, 1959, in Pierre, S.D., the daughter of Samuel M. and Yvonne (Ford) Hofer. She received an associates of science degree. Due to Marsha's father's occupation, she made multiple moves before settling in Sioux City. She was a registered nurse for Dr. Opheim at Siouxland Family Practice at Dakota Dunes. She was of the Catholic faith.

Marsha was an avid sports fan and golfer. She was the West High girls No. 1 fan. She also enjoyed the movies, reading and traveling. Marsha loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was also a strong supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Survivors include: four brothers, Michael (Aileen) Hofer of Las Vegas, Nev., Robert (Cynthia) Hofer of Canby, Ore., Steven (Annie) Hofer of Grants Pass, Ore., and Marty Hofer of Bellingham, Wash.; two sisters, Nancy Engel of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Patricia Christensen of Denver, Colo.; 22 nieces and nephews, six great-nephews, friend Suzanne Harder and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Wayne Christensen Jr.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Gensler, Cody Gensler, Mark Halde, Jason Kolousek, Brian Kolousek, Timmothy Christensen, Greggory Harder, Scott Hofer and Dale Costa.
