Anna Tsoutsouris Hoaas

Anna Tsoutsouris Hoaas, 76, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, due to illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. George P. Pappas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Anna was born July 7, 1930, in Sioux City, the daughter of Thomas and Glykeria (Trevia) Tsoutsouris. As a lifelong Sioux City resident, she loved her Greek heritage and growing up in the South Bottoms. She started working for Johnson Biscuit Company in 1969 and retired from Interbake Foods in 1992.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society. She was a lifetime member of the Bakery, Confectionery & Tobacco Workers International Union Local 433 and was a member of the D.A.V. Commanders Club.

Survivors include five children, James Hoaas, Randy Hoaas, Rodney Hoaas, Karlie Mobley and her husband, Hank Mobley, all of Sioux City, and Michelle Greene and her husband, Jeff Greene of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six granddaughters, Jennifer Pribil and her husband, Greg of Lincoln, Neb., Racheal Cummings, Amanda McClure and Anna Greene, all of Council Bluffs, and Stephanie Mobley and Alexie Mobley of Sioux City; two great-grandsons, Gabriel and Nathaniel Pribil of Lincoln; and a cousin, Tony Tsoutsouris and family of Ohio. She is also survived by her Koumbara; George and June Kourpias and Mary Manuel of Silver Spring, Md., and Mary and George Demetroulis of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Glykeria Tsoutsouris; a sister, Irini Tsoutsouris; a brother, Efthemios Tsoutsouris; and a sister, Mary Tsoutsouris Hanson.

Pallbearers will be George Kourpias, George Klimiades, George Demetroulis, Ray McAvoy, Roger Schultz and Dean Karras.

Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she unconditionally loved and supported.
