SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Timothy L. Hauswirth, 51, of South Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Dave Liewer officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in South Sioux City. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave.

Tim was born May 7, 1959, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Boyd and Dorothy Hauswirth. He attended school at St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen, Iowa, until 1968 when the family moved to South Sioux City. He attended South Sioux City Public Schools, graduating in 1977.

Tim married Sheila Wolfe on Sept. 28, 1984, in Elk Point, S.D. They made their home in South Sioux City.

He worked at Lieber's Garage for a few years before becoming employed at Sara Lee Bakery in South Sioux City. He retired from Sara Lee after 25 years.

Tim loved to work on cars and could fix anything. He restored a 1972 Mach 1 Mustang. He also loved to golf, bowl and spend time with his family. He was thrilled to be Papa to his grandson Riley.

He will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Sheila; three sons, Timothy of San Antonia, Texas, Alex and his son Riley (the joy of Tim's life) and Blake, all at home; a brother, Pat Hauswirth of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a sister, Jami and her husband, Brian Johnson, of Sergeant Bluff; his mother-in-law, Sally Wolfe; a sister-in-law, Leisa Guerrero; a brother-in-law, Andy Wolfe, all of South Sioux City; nieces and nephews, Katie and Patrick Hauswirth, Jessi and Shay Johnson, Lexy and her husband Hany Malek, Alyssa York, Landon and Shae Wolfe and Gabriel and Eva Malek; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Dorothy Hauswirth, and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Kathryn Frericks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Kramper, Shaun Gill, Mike Fritz, Scot Miller and Danny Gill. Special pallbearer will be Brian Poulosky.
