Winona C. "Midge" Harris

Winona C. "Midge" Harris, 71, of Sioux City died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Visitation was held Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. There are no other services planned. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Winona was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Taylor Township near Missouri Valley, Iowa, to Ora Oscar and Josephine V. (Shannon) McIntosh. She grew up in Missouri Valley and lived most of her life in Sioux City. She worked as a cook at Tommy Dale Nursing Home and at IBP.

She was a member of South Sioux City Fraternal Order of Eagles and loved to play bingo. Midge enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Centennial Apartments, where she lived.

Survivors include five children, Ricky Harris and his wife, Judy of Conroe, Texas, Harry Harris and his fiancee, Marcia Davis of Hubbard, Neb., Cindy Harris and her fiance, Brad Silsby of Conroe, Michael Harris of Conroe, and Chris Jenness and her husband, Randy of Omaha; two brothers, Andrew McIntosh of Gibbons, Neb. and Wendell McIntosh of Salina, Kan.; a sister, Geraldine Mickey of Missouri Valley; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie; a brother; and seven sisters.
