Judy K. Harlow, 67, of Castana, Iowa formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at Maple Heights in Mapleton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with Reverend R. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Judy was born on June 8, 1941 in Worthington, MN, to Henry and Kate (Fink) Dirks. She grew up in the Worthington and Reading, MN area. She attended grade school in Reading and graduated high school in Worthington.
Judy married LeRoy Harlow on November 4, 1959, in Worthington, MN. After their marriage the couple moved to Sioux City. She worked at First National Bank, then at Don Meis, DDS. She later worked at Mercy Medical Center until she retired. Judy and LeRoy moved to Castana in 1991.
Judy enjoyed watching little league baseball games where she ran the concession stand at Westside Little League games for several years. Judy and LeRoy also enjoyed taking all the grandkids to the Little League World Series; it was there special time with them. Judy also liked camping, fishing and just spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her husband LeRoy of Castana, IA, daughter, Deb Behrens and special friend Doug Tobin, son, Todd Harlow and wife Tammy, all of Sioux City, IA, 5 grandchildren, Mark Behrens Jr., Melissa Lee Matheny, Dustin Behrens, Cody Harlow and Hunter Harlow, and 5 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Alfred Dirks of Litchfield, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lawrence, nephew, Paul, In-laws, George and Jesse Harlow and step father-in-law, Frank Just.
