Howard D. "Buck" Harker, 65, of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in Sioux City from injuries suffered in an auto accident.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Mr. Harker was born Dec. 27, 1941, in Wana, W.V., the son of Howard Robert and Mary Louise (Holiman) Harker. He grew up in Pennsylvania and later moved to Sioux City. He was an over the road truck driver for most of his life.
He would give the shirt off his own back to help family and friends. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and ATVs. He loved to tell stories of his family, he was one of 13 children.
He is survived by a son, Fred Silcox of Grand Bay, Ala.; a daughter and her husband, Jackie and Anthony Biega of Beaver Falls, Pa.; a son and his wife, Robert and Nicole Harker of Beaver Falls, Pa.; a son, Jason Harker and his significant other, Jeanne Howell of Westfield, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Lissa and Chad Fengel of Sioux City; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; six brothers, Herbert, Robert, Edward, Arthur, Carl and Phillip; a sister, Dana; a granddaughter; and a grandson.
