Marlyn L. Haney, 79, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services for Marlyn Haney will be on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marlyn was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Bronson, Iowa, to Merritt and Ayleen (Wilson) Rowe. She graduated from Bronson High School.
She was united in marriage to Robert Haney on Oct. 1, 1949, in Luverne, Minn. Besides being a homemaker, Marlyn was a preschool teacher and past treasurer at St. Luke Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed knitting, golfing, wintering in Yuma, Ariz., where she loved getting together with friends to golf. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her husband. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Haney of Sioux City; three daughters, LaRae (Tom) Luettgen of Coweta, Okla., Kris (Richard) Weber of Marcus, Iowa, and Patty (Perry) Hegstrom of Moberly, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
